from idea to installation

As a generalist, I speak the languages of an exhibit’s full team – designers, architects, engineers, curators, directors, and donors – and translate the needs and desires of each to make the project a cohesive success.

Immersing myself in the mission, philosophy, ambitions, and goals of the institution is the life blood of any project.

It all comes down to listening.

  • interpretive planning and design

Looking through your institution’s lens, we’ll work together to develop an exhibit narrative and visitor experience that makes a visual and emotional impact. The nature of the space and available assets, artifacts, images, and media will shape how we tell a dynamic and engaging story.

  • architectural planning and infrastructure design

Your building’s infrastructure shapes the exhibit experience and museum operations. Drawing from my architectural background, I’ll ensure your facilities are designed in service to your mission, ideal visitor experience, and operational goals.

  • client representation for coordinated design

I’m in your corner as the “owner’s representative” in order to preserve mission, story, and design integrity across disciplines. My job is to translate your desires to the exhibit team (including architects, designers, engineers, and fabricators) to ensure that your mission and goals are always front and center in the design.

  • "The real charm of working with Kevin is his genuine immersion into the content. He mastered the material well beyond the requirements of the project and without fail shared his enthusiasm and sense of personal discovery for astronomical wonders. He worked to understand the principles of an effort and then found solutions that adhered to them in deliciously unexpected ways."
